According to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), SAB's undersecretary and head of the bureau's emergency team, Suleiman Al-Busairi said that the bureau has been in contact with officials from several local and international hotel brands to discuss using their facilities for quarantine.

The contracts varied in daily expenses and services from $12,000 (KWD4,000) to $144 (KWD45), Al-Busairi explained. Al-Busairi added that the approvals were within the state's laws, with a number of hotels having agreed to the deals and many others having declined.

Last week, Kuwait government spokesperson, Tareq Al-Mezrem said that the government has assigned state departments to complete arrangements to consider imposing a full curfew nationwide in order to step up the efforts that have been adopted to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Earlier, the Kuwait Ministry of Defense completed and handed over Hall 5 in the International Fairs Ground to the Ministry of Health to be used as a quarantine facility. The hall comprises 259 rooms.
